Making your home more energy-efficient has never been more accessible, thanks to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). At Home Heating Hub, we understand that navigating grants and funding options can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to simplify the process and help you access the support you may be entitled to—for FREE.

What Is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a government initiative designed to help homeowners

transition from fossil fuel heating systems to more sustainable and energy-efficient

alternatives. If you’re replacing your oil, gas, electric, or LPG heating system, you could be eligible for a grant to reduce the cost of installing a low-carbon heating system.

What Grants Are Available?

Here’s what you can get through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme:

• £7,500 towards an air source heat pump

• £7,500 towards a ground source heat pump (including water source heat pumps

or shared ground loops)

• £5,000 towards a biomass boiler

These systems must meet specific efficiency standards, and the maximum capacity for individual systems is 45kWth (or 300kWth for shared ground loops). Unfortunately, grants are not available for hybrid heat pump systems.

Who Is Eligible?

You may qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme if:

• You own the property (this includes businesses, second homes, or rental

properties).

• You’re replacing a fossil fuel heating system like oil, gas, or LPG.

Even if you’ve received funding to improve your property’s energy efficiency in the past

(e.g., insulation grants), you can still apply for this scheme. However, only one grant is

allowed per property.
